I’m looking forward to making a return to maggot drowning in the New Year. It has been a long time since my last angling excursion and I’ve resolved that I have to make a definite move towards a return to the waterside. The last event I think was in about 1993 when I went with a friend to have a day at Walton-On-Thames and I bagged a 5 pound barbel which needed about twenty minutes to bring in.
